Chapter 4: Adding Accounts to ID Vault

Add all of your online accounts to ID Vault to get the benefit of convenient, secure, access every time you access your online accounts. All your account information is stored locally on your computer and only you have access to it.

When you add your accounts to ID Vault, they are placed into one of the following categories:

  • Financial Accounts are online accounts at financial institutions like banks, credit unions, credit card issuers and brokerages. More than 8,000 financial Web sites are continuously monitored by ID Vault to protect you from online fraud.
  • Shopping Accounts are online accounts at shopping sites like Amazon.com. There are over 500 top shopping sites that are continuously monitored by ID Vault for your protection.
  • Other Accounts are online accounts for which you log in at any Web site not included in the above two account types. For instance, email accounts and accounts at online news sites fall into this category, as do shopping sites that are not in the list of 500 top shopping sites.

All three types of accounts can be added to ID Vault by browsing to the Web sites you normally visit and taking advantage of the ID Vault reminder messages. You can also add financial and shopping accounts directly from the ID Vault main menu by clicking on the ID Vault icon on your desktop or system tray and selecting an "Add Account" menu item.
